I spent most of my professional life working in the bowels of the earth. Starting on the gold mines in South Africa, working on the third deepest gold mine in the world. It was 10 700 feet below the surface which is almost three kilometers vertically down. I worked on various mines and projects including platinum, uranium, coal, copper, and rare metals.
Working in the mines from 1981 was all I knew until I was facing retrenchment in early 2015 and discovered that due to the economic situation in the world I had become unemployable. With a feeling of desperation and panic, making many hasty bad investments, losing everything in the process, I started looking at other avenues to generate an income.
